Hi! I’m Zhi Ying.
As a graphic designer, I feel that the boundaries of design specialisations have blurred, making it a challenging but exciting time for us right now.
I believe that design is only a subset of something bigger, and that when combined with other fields such as science and technology, design has the power to impact society. As Victor Papanek wrote, “The only important thing about design is how it relates to people.” When people look beyond the aesthetic function of design, they will see design as a non-linear process that helps shape interactions.
I believe we will get there, slowly but surely. Meanwhile, I seek to create purposeful designs, one project at a time.
